I wrote an article about the African-American singer/songwriter Lucille Bogan because of how progressive she was for her time. She no doubt would have needed to adopt a thick skin to survive an industry dominated by white men. More than ever, women need to be reminded that it’s admirable to be authentically, unapologetically themselves. This is my tribute to a bad-ass lady that paved the way for generations to come.
